Games journalism: where to go from here?
My name is Andrew and I've been writing as a games journalist for a number of years now (first voluntarily at http://www.play.tm and later in paid roles at GamerSquad and http://www.nintendic.com, the latter at which I am now Editor. I can earn enough to get by at present (the work is freelance in that the more I write, the more I get paid), but what I'd really like is a secure position with a proper salary.
I know that there are very few staff writing positions at big videogames firms, but seeing as I'm eager to get going with some sort of career, can anyone suggest where best to go from here? I'm university educated and have lots of experience, so would PR or Marketing roles also be an option for me?
I enjoy what I do now, but I'd really like to get out and about to meet people in a job, rather than sit by myself all day. =P
Any advice would be brilliant,
Thanks a lot.
