looking for game journalist jobs

Hi
I have been playing games since I was 5 and I have been playing alot of the xbox360 over the past two years.I am trying to find a website that can give me a job reviewing some xbox360 games. My knowledge of the xbox360 and its games is quite good and I will be able to give reviews on xbox360 games.I am open to voluntary work for a while to get some experience doing game reviews..I will however say that I am new to game journalism but I feel my knowledge of games and experience playing them will be able to produce a satisfactory review

Any replies or advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

Have you tried contacting any of the major games sites to see if there are any vacancies? (Chances are that you will be reviewing games on all platforms unless you are working with a 360 only site).

All of them, the more mainstream, the better.

Edit: How old are you and what is your current level of education? Do you have a resume and a portfolio (samples of your writing) ready?

Good luck

Contacting the main stream sites will be a waste of your time and theirs unless you have some samples of your writing already up on the internet. They will probably not look at you unless you have worked in writing already at smaller sites. You need to go to any sites that are looking for people to write on a volunteer basis and get a few hundred reviews under your belt.

I have known a few guys who have gone onto sites like IGN but you have to put your time in at small sites to get some experience. That is how it works around here for writing, get the experience and then go for the big jobs.
