Game Artists!
I Need to speak with a gamer artist. So if you are one or know one please tell me!
I'm considering being a game artist but I need to know if its a good career path. I love gaming and art so having a career with both of those combined would be a dream! I don't care about how much money I make and just want to do what I love. I also want to know what colleges successful game artist went to. Ive tried looking into Full Sail University, University of Advancing Technologies and Art Institute. But Every time I dig deeper into my search there is always that one person who is like, Don't go there! Not to mention the tuition. So please help! I'm about to be a senior in high school with no idea were I wanna go. I still have time to decide but I heard the earlier the better, right? |
Well I'm in Game Art at Full Sail University Online I don't know how the on campus experience differs but I have noticed that we do share common projects because I saw it when I went to visit the campus during one of my difficult courses. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to give my feelings and advice.
My email is thecore95@fullsail.edu |

2. Don't worry about that. They all come from a variety of schools. You do want an art degree, but it can come from any sort of school. 3. You're talking about "game schools," right? For-profit schools. I recommend you Google "for-profit school news" and "for-profit college controversy," things like that (always Google using different search strings), and find out what's been going on lately in this regard. Then read these: http://archive.gamedev.net/reference...ures/schools1/ http://scientificninja.com/blog/on-game-schools http://www.igda.org/games-game-june-2009 http://www.gamecareerguide.com/schools/ http://archives.igda.org/breakingin/resources.htm http://archive.gamedev.net/reference...egoryid=77#273 http://www.sloperama.com/advice/lesson44.htm 4. There will always be one guy who says that about anything. You, young sir, are much too easily swayed. 5. Let's DO mention the tuition. It should be a huge factor in your decision. It can't be the only factor, but it should be an important factor. 6. Make a decision grid: http://www.sloperama.com/advice/lesson25.htm Consider not only those game schools, but also your local community college and state colleges. |
so how do I respond to tom? Did you mean this website or the one in the link?
