Personal Tour Type Thing?

Hello all, i am currently a high school student taking my classes online so i can work, and i was wondering if anybody knows about any development studios in the Vancouver area or even Seattle that offer tours or the lets someone walk in and talk directly to the development team or the QA team about their careers and what its like? (and if it helps i am currently interested in pursuing a career in programming and i wanna thank whoever made thi site .. it helps a lot :) )

Thank you for taking your time and read/answering my question.

Contact the companies in question and ask for a tour/whatever as a student.

Ive tried that and it seems i have to go in with a class as a school trip in order for a tour to take place :( .. i guess ill just stick with the site and gamasutra

I thought as much. The only times I have known for personal tours to happen if they are a friend of someone who works there.

hello again .. sorry for the double post but i thought that it would be better than making another topic ( i may be wrong) but anyway here it goes .. do you have to have any art skills to get into the gaming industry? im the type of person that cant draw a stick figure with a ruler and a dime for tracing

Depends on what you want to do.

id like to get into programming or being a producer

Gshonk 11-18-2007 02:35 PM

Then not really. I mean it can never hurt but as a programmer you will learn this amazing thing called "programmer art" aka crap. So yea you don't need artistic skills as a programmer.

what in the world is programming art
