I think the title 'Game Designer' is about the worst possible title ever created in the industry. It seems to conjure fantasies about being a guy that was hired for his great idea, who then tells his co-workers to go make them work. There's a reason why a search for "game designer job description" yields more results for colleges selling potential students on the idea and not many results for actual want ads or positions to be filled. It's an unrealistic goal.
