Hi, I'm a game design student considering minoring in database design, simply because I love doing it. Before I make the decision though, I would like to know how useful a database designer would be in the video game industry. Also, what are some example applications (I know user information is one, I'm hoping there's something that has to do more with gameplay (it's annoying that gameplay is highlighted as incorrect spelling)).

Given that more and more games are going online in some form, I say pretty useful.
