Personal Tour Type Thing?

Hello all, i am currently a high school student taking my classes online so i can work, and i was wondering if anybody knows about any development studios in the Vancouver area or even Seattle that offer tours or the lets someone walk in and talk directly to the development team or the QA team about their careers and what its like? (and if it helps i am currently interested in pursuing a career in programming and i wanna thank whoever made thi site .. it helps a lot )

Contact the companies in question and ask for a tour/whatever as a student.

Ive tried that and it seems i have to go in with a class as a school trip in order for a tour to take place .. i guess ill just stick with the site and gamasutra

I thought as much. The only times I have known for personal tours to happen if they are a friend of someone who works there.

hello again .. sorry for the double post but i thought that it would be better than making another topic ( i may be wrong) but anyway here it goes .. do you have to have any art skills to get into the gaming industry? im the type of person that cant draw a stick figure with a ruler and a dime for tracing

You can get a studio tour if you win an IGDA scholarship to GDC!

The deadline to apply is Dec. 7 for the 2008 GDC (which takes place in March in San Francisco).

Scholarship winners get a free GDC pass, an orientation about GDC, a studio tour of a local game studio, and are assigned a mentor to meet with during the conference. Gotta be 18 and in college/uni.
