Would you like us to confer or to keep our scoring to ourselves to avoid any kind of accidental bias to the results?

Maybe we can do both?
Each of us will look at the entries and score them the way he thinks they should be scored and then we can confer (We can set up a deadline for the indevidual judging and decide on the conference time).

May I ask how you got Claxon's entry to run? Do you simply need to have XNA Game Studio installed? Currently, when I try to run it, I just get an error message.

you will need the correct version of XNA (3.0) and possibly the .NET framework installed.
Also judges, you can confer if you wish it's up to you since I've entered a game. It would be good if experince was taken into consideration. I've been working in the industry for several years, so it would be good for beginners to be able to compete in these challenges, and have their lack of experience taken into account.

Well I finally got to play Claxon's Pong. I quite liked how you can shoot at the ball to change it's speed and direction—moreso than actually bouncing it off the paddle.
I didn't understand the rocket symbol in the top-left corner, though. Should it indicate how many rockets you have left or something? Its purpose eluded me.
Also, didn't you say those textures you have in there were supposed to be temporary?

Yes, but I also said it's not got everything I'd hoped to fit in, I was too busy to do more last week. The rocket is a gui element that never quite got finished. It was going to have your ammo count, but it's also to indicate your weapon type. The idea was that you start the game without a turret and collect power-ups by hitting them with the ball. The power-ups would include a variety of weapons like powerful rockets (which you start with now), Rapid fire - short range machine guns, instant hit Laser beams, etc.

Well... I started programming at age 11. I'm now almost 26, and the one game I've made the most, over and over throughout my programming life is Pong (that includes working on the official Atari versions for mobile), so as I'm sure you can understand, I'm a little tired of basic pong. Also like I said earlier, you can make a basic pong in an hour, which isn't really much of a "Game Programming Challenge"
