I've just been browsing through my terms of employment here at Namco, and I've found one of the greatest conditions ever. Drum roll please!
The playing of games on Company equipment is not permitted. I'd better stop working, otherwise I might lose my job! ![]() |

No wonder Namco always releases half-arsed products! No one inside is allowed to test the games they make! (I kid, I kid.
)Does this statement imply that you are permitted to play games on 'equipment' of other companies?

Perhaps they want you to go to Namco Station if you have to test anything?

It is just there to stop people playing games during work hours which can be distracting. Other companies have similar restrictions such as banning internet access on work machines.
Claxon, beware on what you say about your company on a public forum.

I don't really see what's funny about this. Is the joke 'haha, I can't play a arcade game on any Namco in-house board?' (Fun bonus link: http://www.system16.com/museum.php?id=7)

The joke is that my job is to program games using company equipment. That usually requires me to play the game I've just built to check it works. I then send t to the QA team whose job is to do nothing but play games on company equipment.
It's irony. Last edited by Claxon : 12-04-2008 at 03:15 AM. |

Don't worry, Claxon. I was with you!
My company once restricted us from viewing any web pages deemed "occult," which turned out to filter any game web site that included references to zombies, witches, demons, spirits, ghouls, monsters... The very first day that filter was turned on, my fellow editors and I had put in about five calls to IT before noon. It was quickly turned off for us.
