I am a senior in high school and part of our English class we have to do a "Senior Project" this is a two part project that takes most of the year, one part is a paper about a question and the second part is some project relating to your paper. My paper is about programming and my project is to write a program, part of the paper is to interview two different people and part of the project is to have a mentor help you along the way. I have been programming in C++ command prompt work for over a year and have recently moved to directx 9.0. I am using http://www.directxtutorial.com/ as my reference and i was wondering if there was anyone in the bay area that would like to be my mentor or any guidelines would really help.
Emailing me would be the best way: halfpint1170@gmail.com if you have any questions you can respond to this post. |

What would you want your mentor to do exactly? How involved will they be? I'm happy to try and answer questions posted here, but I don't really have time for much more than that.

If you want to just post your questions here I know there are about 5 or 6 professional programmers on here (some game industry some not). I'm sure we would be glad to answer your questions.

yes i know you would gladly help but the project requires that i meet with the mentor in person. My mentor would just help with programming techniques or process but not 100% sure on what exactly i would be asking for since i have never had a mentor in programming before. Maybe book suggestions or something not really sure but it definitely would not be difficult.

I don't think I will be a mentor but this seems like a good website for me!
