Hello people, i'm currently a junior in high school and i'm wondering about art schools. I want to be a game artist, and LCAD has a program for game art. I'm wondering if anyone has gone there and if its any good. Also, I got accepted early into UAT, but I'm not sure about their game art program (the price scares me). Either way, my parents make enough to pay for any college I can get in, so I'm pretty much looking at quality.
Or should i not go into game art and just try illustration? http://moonlight-mage-shiro.deviantart.com/ my devart, in case someone is interested. |

I've heard some good things about this college. Try this thread to get more info
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=151940 Here is also a good thread from an industry expert about going to art school. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=102315 I'll see if I can find more info on UAT I've heard mixed reviews on this school. Ultimately its really what you put into the school that will get you where you need to go. It doesn't really matter which one you major in as long as you have a great portfolio and can get the job done. Typically you will learn more 3d skills in the game art programs and illustration usually emphasizes more 2d skills. What position are you interested in acquiring when you graduate? Any other questions just let me know.
