New site for aspiring game designers - Take Initiative

Hi All

I’ve set up a new site called Take Initiative to give advice and provide information for anyone wishing to enter the games industry. Since I’m an aspiring game designer most of my posts will focus on developing great skills to become a games designer, however, I do have friends pursuing other disciplines in the games industry and will post links to their blog sites to provide as much information as I possibly can. If anyone else is doing the same on GCG in regards to programming, audio, production or art let me know and I'll post links to your sites too. Regular posts will be added weekly to this site to help improve design and game development skills.

The Events page details various competitions that are occuring around the globe, and later on I will expand this page to include information about global games conferences and other events.

Lastly, the Links page is a constantly updating database. I have also included a separate search option for companies that offer internships or that are focused on testing. I did this because internships and QA companies are great for entry level positions and building experience as they provide an insight into the development lifecycle of games and the workings of a games company.

Obviously, I want to try and improve the quality and content of this site as time progresses so any comments are appreciated. Don’t forget to subscribe!

Hi All,

I've written a short article about how to help individuals and teams generate ideas.

I'd like some feedback if possible on the content and any spelling or grammatical mistakes (can these be posted here). All will be appreciated.

More importantly, I'd like to know how others generate ideas. If you have a method that's not listed in the article, feel free to leave a comment under the article.
