Default Monsanto

Monsanto is a huge company that makes herbicides and chemicals, along with genetically engineered food. They are kind of like the "Walt Disney" of the food industry. Somewhere in either the late 80s or the early 90s, Monsanto went to the supreme court so they could legalize the patenting of genes. This means that if we find or alter a gene, we can claim ownership to it. They made a corn that would kill bugs and such if they would eat it. They aren't sure if it's safe for humans to eat yet or not. During the mid 90s, this corn spread around into other farms. Monsanto filed lawsuits on these farms for being in possession of these seeds. These seeds continued to spread around to neighbor farms and started spreading more. Monsanto continued to sue these farms and more were shut down. Monsanto claimed that the corn was their property because the gene was located inside of it. Monsanto also made a gene that they patented called the "Terminator gene" which causes plants to commit suicide and the plants cannot reproduce. Monsanto promised that they wouldn't commercialize this gene. Currently, Monsanto is one of the largest companies that is in control of our food.

Also, it is entirely possible to sue someone for "illegally" obtaining your gene. Monsanto has done it dozens of dozens of times to run other farms out of business. You know how there are many starving people around the World? Many of them use to be farmers or descendants of farmers, however, they can't afford to plant food anymore because they might get attacked by Monsanto, so basically they live on the streets starving now. The company has stated before about these starving people (Even though many don't realize it's their fault they're starving) that "It's for the best, they don't have to suffer anymore." referring to all these starving people are dieing and such.

What is your thought on this?

That company is very shady. Apparently, they had been illegally dumping a very large ammount of dangerous toxic waste in UK landfill sites (and other countries) for many years...

Sounds like Monsanto XD They do this kind of shit all the time and the worst part? They get away with it... Hell, one thing they've said is "It's good if we turn food into an organization, that way the starving people can finally die" they said something similar to that.
