You definitely want to use punctuation. There's really no excuse for not using punctuation when you're dealing with professionals and peers on a forum like this. You got it in that last post.

Aside from that, if you're wondering what is the least you have to know to get into the industry, then the industry probably isn't for you. |

Being a "Jack of All Trades but Master of None" is not a good approach to getting a job. While it is neccessary to have a broad education and a wide range of experiences, you will need to specialise in an area you are interested in. Otherwise you will not be able to take it to a professional level.

I think the last two posts have misinterpreted what he said. I don't think he was implying he would try to learn all those things. I think he was just describing the school. Presumably he would just study Game Design.

Yes bob, thanks. And shane hendrickson you don't need to be so negative, instead you should probably try to help me otherwise if your gonna be negative like that maybe this community (meant to help and guide people like me in the right direction) isn't the right place for you.

In the meantime, you've essentially just told another member of this community to get lost in your very first thread on this forum. Game Development is notoriously close-knit and networking is essential to success; first impressions are everything and right now you're honestly not making a very good one.

Seconded. Jake, you need to adjust your attitude on a number of fronts.

Okay sorry well I'm just saying I don't mind constructive critisism just don't tell me to give up. By the way I'm not trying to make my way into the industry as fast as I can I just saw that academy and a lot of people recommended it since it's apprently one of the only places meant mainly for media like gaming in Chicago, which is where I'm going. So do you recommend trying to get into a 4-year program?

The second response to your original post covers exactly what you're asking...
