is there any list of accredited colleges that have game design degree?i know u dont need to study game design to be a game designer but i want to study something really interesting and be good. i dont really want to study deep 3d modeling, art or programming, mostly anything i ll need about game design and about all other things around it.
i found international academy of design adn technology for that but i found many complaints about it, thats its not really a real college and u are probably gonna be laughed at when u try to find a job graduating from that school, same for westwood college.and i really havent found many other game design colleges. so i would to know if there are any other colleges in us that i can go and study game design(and be able to find a job after graduation), i ask here because i need a safe answer because i dont want to make a wrong choice about an important think like that Last edited by Husky2449 : 02-12-2010 at 06:25 AM. |

thanks a lot for the links.
i have seen a few of those colleges and will keep searching about them, but i have one question. i ve heard that its not really easy to find a job without a 4year bachelor, and i ve seen that many of those schools have 1 or 2 year programs(like Vancouver Film School but i still search others 2), is it easy to find a job so early after graduating from these schools?(it will not be possible to find a game design job from the beggining, but what about the jobs around game design like QA tester, will it be easy to find one with only 1 or 2 year certificate?) 2. Nothing is easy. Don't ask if anything is easy. 3. Nothing is easy. Don't ask if anything is easy. But you don't need a college education to become a QA tester. To become a QA tester in an English-speaking country, though, you need to be able to capitalize the word "I" and properly punctuate English contractions.

i got 2 more questions, what happens if u graduate from high school and then have only 1 year of education and a game design diploma?
why is the 4 years of educations so necessary? also what employers think about people who have a game design certificate instead of something else? |

Husk, you wrote:
>i got 2 more questions, what happens if u graduate from high school and then have only 1 year of education and a game design diploma? Nobody has a crystal ball. Nobody can tell you what WILL happen given any hypothetical situation. We can only tell you what MIGHT or PROBABLY will happen. Most likely, you would have a VERY difficult time getting hired in the game industry in the hypothetical situation above. >also what employers think about people who have a game design certificate instead of something else? They think it's not enough education. >why is the 4 years of educations so necessary? Read these: http://sloperama.com/advice/designprep.htm http://www.igda.org/games-game-june-2009 http://www.igda.org/games-game-july-2009 http://www.igda.org/games-game-august-2003 http://www.gamedev.net/reference/bus...ures/schools1/ http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...opic_id=558712 http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...opic_id=559155 http://www.gamedev.net/community/for...opic_id=554830 Lastly: What country do you live in? I'm guessing that English is not your native language -- am I correct?
