I am writing a game design document to hopefully win a scholarship from the school I will be attending next year, but I am having trouble getting started... I already have an idea of what I want to write about but is there any tip on how I should start and are there any templates or samples that I could follow? I have to write a:
1) one page overview of the game concept and target market and competition 2) description of one main character 3) a sketch and description of one play area or level 4) a flowchart and description of one game mechanic |

That is already quite a specific outline on what you need to do. What do you actually need help on?

Write down the elevator pitch. That should get the ball rolling.

Good start KC_21.The points that you have described are quite interesting and helpful for initiators. The more points which I want to suggest you are:
Words describing details about your game, in complete sentences Description seems to be interactive experience |
