Does an audio surveillance system work in an office environment?

I have hired a new person in my office who is doing very well. He has helped to hire new people, and works very professionally. The senior people in my office are determined to insult, and remove him, and keep taunting him. I want to set up an audio surveillance system to gather evidence, which may be used against the offenders. The size of the room is around 20 feet by 20 feet.
