Personally I prefer IGN because it seems to have deeper and more straight-forward reviews and I like the fact that they end up with a conclusion.
But it's wiser to know various opinions. What do you all think about this? |

I go to IGN and at the moment I can't really give my opinion on their reviews. I enjoy going to gametrailers.com and watching their review which critiques the game in four sections story, design, gameplay, presentation. It feels pretty in depth you should check them out.

I tend to read Edge and watch Zero Punctuation myself.

Yeah, I've also been checking Zero Punctuation Out. His reviews are pretty right because he says what we are all thinking.
And thecore95 you're right gametrailers.com seems pretty good too. I can't tell if it is better or worse that IGN, but it is definitely better than Gamespot. Last edited by Khaos : 02-16-2010 at 04:17 AM. |

I mostly look at IGN and GameTrailers.com.

Does anyone have more advice? You can also say any other site you think is worth it?

Wow the worth depth doesn't belong in the same sentance as IGN, both these sites have editors who write about games by reading other reivews, I am pretty sure of that.
Gaming Journalism is a freakin joke. Serious Game Forums are the best place to discuss these things. |

I like G4 instead actually. If I read anything its from a freelance site or other reviewers on my site. Most the time I don't have a choice, I need to grab the game and review the game ASAP.

I feel that between IGN and GameSpot, IGN is more impartial right now. I fell like GameSpot "prefers" PS3 above all now, but that's only my personal opinion.

The real answer is neither.
You find the best journalists and follow them, not the organizations they work for. Metacritic is good for an overall score, but reading a bunch of different reviews is a lot more enlightening than sticking yourself to only one. |
