I posted this two months ago to the day. 250+ views, yet not one comment. Is it that bad, that good, or that ho-hum?

-Instead of dividing it up into hard/soft/etc machines, categorize your work by 3D models, graphic design, concept art, illustration, etc.
-Right now your portfolio is geared towards graphic design, and while you're clearly skilled, none of your work has been applied to games. It is unclear from your portfolio what you specifically want to do in the games industry, or even if you want to work in games. -Previous work experience and clients should be above skills. -Have a separate page for your resume/CV and have your About page include a small bio that summarizes who you are and what you like to do. |

At quick glance I have no idea what a soft/hard machine is or how it relates to artwork.
My criticism would be very similar to what Llama posted. Who are you? What do you do? What do you want to do. Why?

What other people said. The first thing I got when looking at your site was that it was clan and to the point. The problem is I did not know what that point is. I flipped through some images and went "Well this guys got a lot of skills but what is it he is trying to get hired for? What is is life's goals here? What dose he love to do?"
You obviously have some work in diagrams and technical work but I did not see any prices pointing out other skill sets you said you did like story boarding. I understand you want a strait forward site but I think you need to sum it up a bit more then three panels of pictures saying sort of what is in side of them. Change the site layout and put some direction for the user to see and you go a long way. |

Too, the "Soft Machines", "Hard Machines", etc. names with each of the panels are very general, yet grammatically connected descriptors of their contents: "machines" serving as an almost subliminal cue that they're not 'fine' or purely decorative art. Also, I'm not using this online portfolio for freelance work per se. So I'm asking for general responses right now. Understand that this is a free [at this level] "plug-in" type of portfolio site hosted by Carbonmade.

I think the content of the site is strong, but like most of the other responses to this point, i think that the descriptors of each particular category are a bit misleading. And when you say that you aren't using the portfolio for freelance work, what are you using it for? I think that was the misunderstanding several of us are having: What are you selling yourself as?
