Hey castin,

I am also in a similar situation as you are, I am glad I am not alone. It might even take me longer to get my degree. I am a little bit a ease now knowing I wont be the only one :P

I don't stress it at all anymore, just work hella hard at all aspects I can. Although from reading countless material it sounds like almost no one gets hired as a lead design but starts out smaller so i'm refining my degree to more of a level design aspect. The reviews i've been writing are really helping as well and although no one gives any feedback on them i've noticed they force me to take note of things I may have missed so it's a nice self help tool.

I don't think people are hired as senior designers when they are new to the industry.
