Default My Major

I'm not quite sure what to do, and I'm pretty worried. My major (well, the major I'm working towards right now) is Chemistry. I want to earn a job in a game developing company, a desire I discovered only a few months ago. I don't know if this major will be an extreme liability however, and I tried switching to Computer Science in the engineering department. However, to get into that major, you need to take the classes, and to take the classes, you need to be in the major. Assuming I manage to get into the classes, I'll end up having to stay in college for at least an extra two years. Will this major be okay? Or should I try for something else? Thanks for any input! Any advice is valuable at this point.

What kind of game job do you aspire to? You didn't say.

From just a little bit of research, getting a degree in computer science is really promising even if you didn't want to do game development. But depending on what you want to do, maybe you'll want to major in CS and then minor in something else? In my opinion, if you have the chance to do another 2 years to pursue something you enjoy, it'll be way worth it.

I might attempt to switch schools and start over, but the only reason I'm not going for another 2 years is because I don't want my parents to spend that much money on me.

Nobody but a fortuneteller could say for sure, but it shouldn't necessarily be a liability. Read FAQ 3 and FAQ 14 on my site.

codeplus, you appended your question on somebody else's question.
That's called "hijacking a thread."
I'm locking this thread because it's been hijacked.
Please start your own new topic or question, and express your question better.

Useful for what? What is your end goal, what country do you live in?
Anything "can be useful" but without the context it's difficult to give you a useful answer.
