Default Game publishing process info for investigation

Hi all
I'm studying systems engineering and In a subject I'm working on a project that focuses on a feasibility study about some software for a game publishing company, we have stablished the problems that we are going to focus on, like following the development of a project and some tools for marketing. The problem is that I can't find much info about the video game publishing process or business model, the most useful link I found is this one:

but I need more information because I must explain the systems and process of a videogame publisher as detailed as possible and for that I need more information.
If you can give me links, information or recommend me books I would be very grateful.

Thanks I will read it
But I need more info in the game publishing process, not so much the development because in the study we're gonna approach the development as something the developer does, we'll try to focus on the activities on the game publisher, and theres is little information that I could find on that.

Most likely because it differs from company to company and product to product. The link you current have is accurate from a high level perspective but the specifics will vary.

You will have to contact a publisher and use them as your test case/study to get anything concrete that you can use to base your software on.

For example "Gamecoc k" (stupid word censor) will have a different publishing process to a company such as EA.

After a reommendation by someone and some reading I found extremely helpful:
"Secrets of the Game Business"
Charles River Media, ed. Larramee
I think I can base my system description with the info on that book, the previous link and a little bit of imagination.
