I'm a Technology Education Librarian in Charlotte, NC. Many teens and tweens at my library are interested in game design. Is there a resource of people to ask that would be interested in speaking to the youth in getting started with game design as a career? We could also do live streaming or Skype of the presentation if you are not local. Thank you.

Contact any local game developers in the area. Use: http://gamedevmap.com/
Other then that, the only high profile games designer I know is Tom Sloper: http://www.sloperama.com/ You can also try the IGDA: http://www.igda.org/

I believe Icarus Studios subsidiary Fallen Earth LLC is based in Cary, NC. The current lead game designer is Lee Hammock, who has been quite successful in the fields of writing, non-digital games, and MMORPGs.
Edit: Ok, Cary is alot further away than I thought! Last edited by Adrir : 07-04-2008 at 03:03 AM. |
