Can anyone offer anything to shed some light on what kind of Math Game Programmers should know?

Depends on your specialty in programing. Someone who does physics or graphics programming needs to know more then someone who does gameplay for example.
At a minimum I would expect a programmer to know algebra, linear, trigonometry, vector and matrix math.
