Gshonk,

I let my forum reading slip and you up and graduate. Congratulations on that and on landing a job. Keep us posted on how you like it and how it compares to what you envisioned.

Best regards,

Uther

Grant!!! Congrats you lucky sonuva...

Meanwhile I lay defeated outside the gates of Bioware, the undefeatable giant that it is.

By the way, where are you working (I think I missed it if you said it, too much module making for me) and what do you think landed you the gig?

Also, did I mention congrats, and I wish i could shake your hand?

Take care bud, and good luck!

Sincerely,
Tim Edwards (Forum Moderator at Large)

Thanks a lot Tim. I am working for Merit Entertainment (Industry, Games) they go by all three. You can read more in my blog .

Um I think what helped me get the job was a number of things. One of them was having GCG on my resume. Another was my networking I knew a few people at the company so that helped for sure. Also the fact that I was just out there getting my name places people would see it. It was a great boost of confidence getting three job offers in one week. And I attribute it to just sending out resumes and all of the networking I have done.

Question out of curiosity: How did you meet those people? Did you go to a Game Developer's Conference, find some article they wrote on the internet that had their contact info, or were they friends of friends of friends type of thing?

They were a friend of a friend, and the friend introduced you at a conference, and then you researched them on the internets where you discovered an articles? Or am I just being frazzle brained?

Well what I meant was it was a little bit of all of them. I had friends who worked there, I read some stuff that the guys talked about that work there. And I got some great experiences and met some people at GDC. So a little of all.
