I just wanted to know if anybody has a particular company that they want to work for or if they want to make their own company. Or if you dont have any preferances in companies, what about specific genres of games you want to make.
I kinda want to make RPGs. Specifically Action-RPGs but I would love to make an old fashioned RPGs. |

I for one, would love to work at any of the following:
Bioware Square-Enix Nintendo Sony Capcom Microsoft Although I'm more a fan of stories and backgrounds so I'd love to be an RPG maker, but would settle with action games or remaking the FPS genre. After all that though I'd love to work on any project, mostly to challenge myself. Like if someone asked me to make a game to teach kids, I'd love the challenge. |

Well Ubisoft, Sony and Squaresoft are always in my mind as companies I would love to work for.
On the other hand, there are advantages to working for smaller companies, or even new companies (There is a bigger chance you will get noticed by the people at the top, and that you will have a bigger influence on how things are going to look like). As of genres, RPG, action and horror are my most preferred, although atrategy games (both real time and turned based) and puzzle games would also be nice. The only genres I would probably won't like to work on are racing and sports. Last edited by TG1 : 08-24-2008 at 11:14 PM. |

The companies I want to work at always change when I meet really cool people from different companies. Ideally, I'd like to work somewhere that does a lot of MMORPGs like NCSoft/ArenaNet, CCP or Jagex. I'm not really too fussy though.

Er, you'd like to work for publishers? (Edit: This isn't meant to be a snarky remark. I assume you like their IPs or corporate culture, and I am curious.)
I've always entertained fantasies of working for Blizzard, Ubisoft Motreal, Ubisoft Casablanca (less so now, as I'm not a big fan of their recent work), NeverSoft, Nihilistic Software, TakeTwo Boston, Team Bondi (I actually know a guy there :P), and Monolith Soft. As for games, I love RPGs, 3rd person shooters, platformers, and pretty much anything, except I'm not as big on are FPS, or non-combat/arcade racing and I'd activity dislike working on a MMORPG. I'm also a bit of a Fantasy/Sci-Fi person, and I'm a huge Horror fan, to the point that I'd likely choose to work on a horror game above all else. Realistically, I'd work for anyone who'd take me. :P Last edited by ronnoc10 : 08-25-2008 at 08:20 AM. |

It's kind of my dream to work on a 2D Zelda game, so that would probably be an internal Nintendo studio or something along the lines of (now defunct) Flagship. Free Radical Design would probably be my second choice. Really respect what they do. And they have free apples for all employees! No Really!
