Smile Linkedin vs online game portfolio

Hello!

I have both an online portfolio and a Linkedin page (both of which I'm updating as my net allows). My Linkedin is slightly more updated than my portfolio. I'm wondering something. When you apply to a game design company (or another related company in the game development field), which one is looked at the most? Should I show both to an employer (even when their the same; once I finish with my latest update)? Any other advice or suggestions? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

I haven't heard of an employer looking at a LinkedIn page to find portfolio material. Maybe I'm just behind the times. I thought LinkedIn was for other purposes (and I didn't know one could upload one's entire portfolio there).

If you have your full portfolio on LinkedIn, then why don't you just get rid of your secondary portfolio? Or keep updating them both?

I'm thinking about using one of them as a backup of sorts. I uploaded my stuff to my Dropbox account and linked some of it on my Linkedin. I saw a lot of my classmates do it so I'm trying it. This was something I was curious about. Thank you for the help Mr. Sloper. You're great as always. ^_^ Anyone else have any insight?

A pretty lousy backup, if it's not up to date.

I use LinkedIn as a social platform. To find and contact other people in similar jobs, agencies and companies. My profile is basically a copy of my CV and my portfolio is where I point everyone to for full details.
