Default Hello all, just stumbled upon this glorious site last night

And I am glad I did. I have an issue that i'm dealing with, and I have my own idea with how to handle it, but i figured i'd get some advice. Wasn't sure if this was the forum for it, but it's my first post on these boards so i figured it was as good a place to put it as any for now.

Basically, i'm working for an up and coming game company as a writer and a tester, in order to get experience under my belt for my ultimate goal of becoming a lead designer. The game the company is trying to push(it's first game) is, in my opinion, not ready to be consumed by the general public, and the responses it received when the trailer was put on steam(greenlight) support that opinion. I have some ideas on how to improve the game, and have made a couple of subtle design suggestions which were well received.
A friend of mine suggested that I just play my role, so as not to overstep my position...which I feel is good advice. I'm wary of outshining the master, but the responses have been positive thus far. Should I continue and try to push the envelope to improve the game at the risk of being labeled a control freak or worse, or should I just quit while i'm ahead and wait for my chance to have more design input on whatever title is next in the pipeline?

Thanks in advance for taking the time out to read this!

You have made a couple of suggestions which were well received, you say. You could certainly make a couple more suggestions, but don't push so hard that you jeopardize your job. I'm a firm believer in planting seeds. Sometimes they take root and grow, and sometimes they don't. And people don't always remember who planted a seed, but you shouldn't care too much about that.
