What are you looking for, the question is rather vague. You need to be specific, something that I expect a writer to be.
What University course? Things you can do in your spare time? What the pay is like? How easy is it to break into the industry? Are these the questions you want to ask? If so, specify which ones.

Starting a blog with columns and reviews (good AND bad games), try to get work published for other websites such as this one. Get your work out there.
Other points, in EVERYTHING you write that is public and 'on show' including forum posts. Quote:

Get your work critiqued by more experienced writers. There is no harm in sending work to magazines and asking for input and critique, at worse they just say no.
Be sure to write features and opinionated pieces to show you can do the research and hold a view with reasoned arguments. Magazines such as GamesTM also do reader columns, that would be a 'easy' step and a good goal to getting visibility on your writing.
