Are you looking to self learn or to enroll in an online program?
For self-learning, The Gnomon Workshop (thegnomonworkshop.com) has an array of training DVDs in 3D modeling and animation. They also do some classes, both online and in person at various venues, but I'm pretty sure they are one-off classes, not series. For online schools and programs, see our "schools" tab on this web site. There are a few to look at listed there.

3DBuzz have training videos that you can buy which are usually pretty good.

Yeah, Sessions has a pretty great program. Check out that link (http://gameart.sessions.edu/) as well as their impressive blog, "Notes on Game Dev," which has great interviews with industry folks: http://www.notesongamedev.net.
You can sample some of the class video tutorials (including for Maya Basics) at: http://gameart.sessions.edu/video_li...e=game_vid_lib or on their YouTube Channel at: http://www.youtube.com/SessionsOnline Good stuff. |

3dbuzz.com has free video tutorials that I used to learn Maya. There's hours and hours of videos that cover the introduction (in high detail) as well as three seperate lesson which uses nearly every respectably feature of Maya. Very complete and something I recommend. I've not yet paid for any videos or classes and I consider myself fairly advanced in Maya.

If you're looking for an online school to get a degree there's the Academy of Art or the Art Institute Online (which I know nothing about but expects a portfolio). Prepare to spend a fortune taking mostly art classes BUT (and I know people are going to totally bash on the schools, bring it on -I'm ready, got the debate cards prepared) you will have to do A LOT of studying outside of the class and have A LOT of self discipline.
I can only really tell you about AAU which is where I'm taking online courses. I won't bore everyone with the details but it's not as bad as a lot of reviewers paint it. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...8103632AAw8sLk - Gives a list of lot of different schools to look into that may or may not have 3D modeling. |
