What to where and what not to where?

This is my second post and I was wondering if their is a list or does it go by what you think looks presentable to a job interview? I would like to aquire a job when I graduate the next six months as a Associate Producer and Do not want to overdress or undress and I think if you have to ask some one from the Company what tho where that would look stupid? I guess my main concern is do you where a tie?, Do you just wear khakis and a polo?, Dress shoes and slacks I mean this may seem small but alot of companies are big in first impresions. I just dont want ot screw up my first job interview ! Not that I have one but it would help to here peoples past experiences when going to a job intervew in the Game Industry. Maybe start a page with tips on landing your first job, or having a good interview? If I just didnt read the link please sed it to me...Thanks

I would say ask the HR person you are in contact with if you are worried. But I usually just wear a polo and khakis.

It really depends on the size of the company you're applying for.

But to stay in the safe side, I would stick with the standard for any interview.

Black/Blue Suit with a white shirt. A tie. Bring a portfolio of some sort in hand. Black shoes.

Of course it's best not to look too professional to the point where the interviewer may think you won't fit in. But still, I would wear a suit just to show them that you are serious about the position, and ultimately let your personality reveal itself throughout the interview so your interviewer will realize you would be an ideal match.

Jeans are bad to wear in "casual" interviews? Even smart denim?

Seriously though, I usually just throw on something I might use to impress a girl or go out in; just wear it more smartly. Trousers, shirt, shoes, bingo.

Guess that nixes the clown outfit I've been keeping in the storage room...

What about facial hair, tattoos and piercings? I'm personally a Vin Diesel look alike (minus the million dollar looks, but the hair style is similar ), but there are many out there who have various other styles. I assume the guidance is that they should be keeping those bits on the more conservative side of things for the interview?

Depends on the company. But I have more than a few friends with crazy hair, body piercings, or tattoos. But I would try to keep it at least well groomed.
