I might be going to the main The Develop Conference & Expo. I thought the GameEdu was more for academics and teachers. Is it worth going as a student?

Not sure, the GamesEdu North had a fair amount of students handing CVs and portfolios to the company stands and asking how to get into the industry.

I think I'd get more out of attending the coding seminars and just chatting to folk in the networking lounge (or whatever they are calling it there). It costs alot though, so I hope it is worth it! £400+, ouch!

Actually, I stand corrected. It's not well advertised, but there is a student pass which allows you do everything the standard pass can, which is half the price.
