So I finally dusted off my copy of Python Programming: An Introduction to Computer Science and started my journey into the world of programming. I'm only a few chapters in, but I'm loving it thus far. This book is fantastically written and I'm really absorbing everything in. I really think I have a knack at this.

My only regret is that I haven't done this sooner. Once I'm done with my undergraduate this December, I'm going to dedicate a lot of my time programming and learning as much as I can and take advance math classes at my school to catch up and sharpen my math skills. I think a Master's in Computer Science is in my future

Any advice, suggestions, warnings, suggested books? Should I dive into C++ next? What's a good forum to go search and ask newbie questions?

Look at creating small games with Python and library binding such as Pyglet. GameDev and the forums on PyGlet will be your first stops.

Regret is a waste of mental energy. There are good reasons why you didn't do it sooner. Probably you weren't ready before. You are now. Stop looking back and kicking yourself (looking back and kicking yourself only propels you backward anyway). Just keep moving forward, and enjoy.

This forum is so overrun by spammers it's ridiculous.
I hadn't noticed that the thread was 3 years old (I usually don't miss that).

It's sound advice, regardless
