hello im a freshman looking foward in having a career in video game journalism.

here are some questions i got for you guys.

1.Is it not to early to start
2.how do you start
3.what classes to take (high school and college)
4.what companies are in the pacific north west region
5.what is expected by the employer (magazine/online)
6.Can I start now?

1. Learning? No. Job? Maybe pending on employment laws for minors and experience.
2. Learning? By writing and reading. Read various reviews/articles/news/etc of anything (films, books, games etc) from various sources and start writing your own.
3. English, English Literature, Journalism should be your core ones. Anything else that you are interested in.
4. No idea.
5. Look at job postings.
6. This is the same question as 1.

You probably can't start working at a real job as of now due to your lack of experience and age, but look for volunteer positions on websites to build up a portfolio of work.

Exaclty. As the guys have mentioned before you need heavy experience to have a paying position in video game journalism. It's always nice to start with a new site or a site looking for writers to grow.

Most sites will want you to know how to write editorials/opinion, reviews on games, or just post daily news in the gaming industry. I'd be willing to give you a writing position of my site if interested pal.
