Do you HAVE to know how to program? I don't mind learning, as knowlege is power, but this "C++ for Dummies" pdf is just mumbo jumbo, I can't understand any of it. Is programming really a must? I've been modeling for about 5-6 months, and by Facepunch's(Gmod, a Half-life 2 Mod, community) standards, I'm decent. So I have modelling and animation under my belt(more or less, still going to college for it) But are programming classes mandatory when going into thios field?
Also, I'm a senior who waited til the last minute to look for colleges. Can anyone det me on the right track and point me towards a good college. Preferably Lower-east coast or California, |

I would say if you want to start programming, start with PHP first, the most used programming Language in the world. It's quite easy to learn as well, you would be surprised!

To be a designer you should know the general things behind programming because you will need to be able to speak and understand code when problems come up. C++ is what you want to know if you are going into games as it is the most common game language followed by Java for most mobile games.
