I know this may sound funny, but I still love the old school games like Super Mario Brothers, Tecmo Bowl, and The Legend of Zelda. I keep finding myself going back and playing these games. They were so greatly made even though they are so simple.

4. Diablo 2. Craziest addiction. Ever.
3. Guild Wars. Redefined my view of MMOs. Over 1400+ hours spent in one summer. 2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The cupid's arrow to my gaming life. 1. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadow of Amn. Estimated 450 hours of my life, into a single player game. Need I say more? XD |

If we're just talking RPGs...
I have to say, Xenogears wins hands down! Simply due to the epic story and level of depth. Best I've experienced. After that, I'd say I enjoyed Valkyrie Profile and Chrono Cross the most. Then Knights of the Old Republic. Out of the Final Fantasy series, I actually prefer X, but that's just me. The Legend of Zelda definitely has to be in there somewhere...eeep - that's six! I'd give honourable mentions to Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect as they are the best I've played for a while. Otherwise... I've proberbly spent most of my time playing StarCraft so this is my favourite. It's a lot of fun - both single player and multiplayer.

Chrono Chross over Trigger? Really? I haven't played Chross, but what I've seen of it just seemed so... uninteresting.

I liked the part where Dark Serge was running around up to no good while you, the player, is trapped in Lynx's body. It was an interesting perspective on things...and then there was the twist. Parallel worlds are easy to understand too.

1. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (and the sequel).
I've wasted so many hours on the two KotOR games, but all was well spent, kept me happy and introduced me to the RPG genre. Plus, I got to be a Jedi! 2. Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Saga My fondest childhood memories were playing this fantastic RTS online on a dial-up connection. Many hours in, the host would receive a phonecall and BAM! Connection lost. So much fun and again, Star Wars nostalgia at it's best post-1970's. 3. Call Of Duty 2 Forget CoD4, forget Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty 2 is where Infinity Ward created their greatest asset. Easily my favourite FPS since the days of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. 4. Championship Manager 1999 As a massive sports fan, especially Football, it's hard to imagine life without the management sim series. However, with Football Manager 2010 on my christmas list, this could soon be replaced! 5. Star Wars: Battlefront Whilst it was a fun game and worthy of adorning the Star Wars branding, Battlefront was my first ever experience of Xbox Live and boy, was it an experience to cherish! |
