Hello,
I am teaching myself C++ and I need a decent compiler for Mac OS X 10.5.8 that is free. The main things I have read about are the GCC compiler and xcode. Thank you for your time. |

I do all my C++ development on my PC so I don't have much experience working with xcode for C++. On my Mac when I fire up xcode, I choose New Project... > Application > Command Line Tool > Type = C++ stdc++. This will give you a "hello world" skeleton app.

Just use Xcode. The installer comes with a compiler.
