The player would play as a child having a nightmare and would navigate around the house in an attempt to escape from the dream world. We made the game using the UDK. A lot of stuff didn't get finished for it or turn out as intended, but I still think it turned out really well for being done in 48 hours with a small team of students.

It was for this year's. It was my first time participating, and I'm definitely going to do it again next year. Our local coordinator here in Portland is trying to get a local version of it started. He was talking about doing the same thing spread out over three days, but you'd only be allowed to work for eight hours each day. Development time would be cut in half, but you'd have a lot more downtime to think about how to properly implement features.

UPDATE: Plugged in a different video player for my demo reel. After checking on several computers and browsers, it seems to run fine. If anyone has trouble loading/viewing it, please let me know.

Hated the music (I turned it off very quickly).
Couldn't seek in the video (extremely important).

Yeah, I myself was on the fence about the music. I hear that most people turn any music to mute anyways, but for the few that don't, it doesn't hurt to have something playing in the background.
I'm using flash player for the video. By default it doesn't seem to have seeking enabled and I'm still looking into getting that changed. |

Some will mute it, some will just stop watching. Choose music that is easier on the ear please.

Demo reel updated with a new player. The player has seeking built into it, and runs on all the browsers and operating systems I've checked it on. If anyone has trouble loading it, let me know.

It's not running for me on Firefox 3.0 on Ubuntu. Flash Player 10.1 beta.
