Hi,
I was wondering how hard it is to build a digital distribution service. I'm not talking of big ones such as Steam, Impulse, D2D or GamersGate. But I know a lot of "small ones" have popped up recently, such as Green Man Gaming, DotEmu and obviously Good Old Games. I'm a skilled PHP developer, experienced with CMS such as Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal. GMG and DotEmu seems quite simple websites, built upon standard CMS, so... I was wondering what you think about starting such a business. |

To make one, probably not too difficult. To make it a business is a different story. How would you prevent piracy? How will you get developers to sign with you?

And why do you ask how hard it is to build? Because if you have to ask, well... you know.
