...Go into game development/programming/whatever-as-long-as-it-has-to-do-with-vidoe-games?
I'm asking because I thought it would be interesting to see the different stories, ya know, what inspired people to do this. |

IDK, I loved games just about all my life. Before I could walk my sister put an unplugged NES controller in my hand and she played Super Mario Bros. and from what they (my family) told me I used to love it when Mario died. XD They've been in my life all my life so far, I can't think of growing older and working or doing something not associated with them.

Ultima Online was a big motivator for me. I got really into in-game community building and ended up joining Origin's Seer team - a group of staff and volunteers that created and executed quests and story arcs across the servers. It got me really into working on how to make engaging content. The best part about doing live events was that we had the tools at our disposal (although crude by today's standards) to adjust things on-the-fly to accommodate who was participating and how they were participating. It was a living experiment in game design that made a lasting impression on me.
