Animation in Washington State?

Hi, I've recently started visiting these forums as my desire to become a character animator has risen and I'm wondering if anyone has any information on what degree would be necessary for this field and how good/creditable the animation colleges/universities in Washington State are.

At the moment I've looked at schools such as the Art Institute of Seattle, ITT Tech of Seattle, International Academy of Design and Technology - Seattle and DeVry University. In my research of these schools however, I've read that these schools have either terrible credibility or poor instructors/material. I've taken a look at University of Phoenix in Renton, WA but I don't know if that's the correct degree. Right now, ITT Tech Seattle seems like the best choice but I'd appreciate an opinion based on experience. From what I've seen you're quite a friendly bunch and I hope you can help me in the near future.
