Default Is a certificate enough?

Hello, I'm going to be attending a community college in the spring. The school offers a certificate in computer game design, which I've already registered for. I chose this program because I want to an audio programmer or a level programmer.
Would I be better off taking the associate degree program in computer programming, even though it offers the same programming classes as the game game design certificate? Should I look at other options?

2. If you want to be a programmer, a degree is better than a certificate. An associate degree is only half as good as a bachelors degree.

3. Go to the CC by all means. Then take your transferable credits and get a bachelors degree at state school.
