Default Internships - where to look!

Hello,

I am currently a sophmore in college interested in game development (particularly programming) and looking into getting a running start to "breaking" into the industry through summer internships.

Basically what I am looking for is a good resource for finding various game development related internships and college jobs (i.e. game tester), or perhaps names of companies that offer these. I think it would be great if we could build some sort of a semi-official list of game developers/companies that provide these sort of opportunities for us college students on a yearly basis.

So far, searching Gamasutra job posts for "intern/internship" doesn't yield anything and the "current internships" on the GameCareerGuide page is also empty.

I've been doing some research on my own and here's a few I found so far:

------------------- Programming Internships ---------------

EA - http://jobs.ea.com/eaacademy/how.html

Insomniac Games (starting January) - http://www.insomniacgames.com/careers/interns.php

THQ - http://careers.thq.com/thq/cc/CCJobS...d=CCSearchPage

Three Rings (JAVA) - http://www.threerings.net/jobs/internships.html

Ubisoft (Canada) - http://jobs.ubisoft.ca/en/internships.php

------------------- Offer Internships but none at the moment (or not in programming) ---------------

Edge of Reality - http://www.edgeofreality.com/careers.html#intrnProg

Garage Games - http://www.garagegames.com/company/jobs/

Big Huge Games - http://www.bighugegames.com/jobs.shtml

------------------- Game testing ---------------

None that I know of

I don't expect there to be any Internships in QA because they are usually contracted regardless. There is no single resource on Internship positions that are open, the usual process is to call/contact the company you would like to have an Internship with and simply ask.

I would start looking at GameDev Map and work my way through the list.

Even companies that don't openly advertise Internships may have positions open. IIRC, a reason that was given was that they get so many applications regardless that they don't need to advertise.

Here's a neat little intern-to-hired story:
