  • Blizzard Announce October Return For 2008 BlizzCon

    [05.12.08]
  • Representatives from World of Warcraft developer Blizzard have announced the return of its BlizzCon convention, again set to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center this October 10th and 11th, offering developer panels, tournaments, contests and more.

Blizzard describes the convention, now in its third iteration, as a "celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises," and has this year expanded to three convention halls from last year's two.

In addition to hands on time with forthcoming Blizzard games, the developer promises discussion panels with Blizzard employees, and tournaments for both competitive and casual players of Blizzard games.

The convention will also offer activities surrounding Blizzard's licensed products, including its World of Warcraft trading card game, costume and machinima contests, a silent auction, and further activities yet to be announced.

Said Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime, “Whenever we’ve been able to meet and interact with Blizzard gamers from around the world, it’s been a great experience for us. We’re looking forward to seeing even more of our players at this year’s BlizzCon and delivering another entertaining and informative event for them.”

Tickets for the BlizzCon will be put up for sale "in the next few weeks" at a price of $100 per person. More information on the event can be found on the official BlizzCon website.
