  • Beginning C++ through Game Programming, Second Edition Releases

    [12.21.06]
  • Course PTR's latest book, Beginning C++ through Game Programming, Second Edition, has released, and promises to provide readers with the core skills needed to begin programming with C++ specifically as it relates to games.

Interactivity, brought about by C++ programming, is a vital part of games. Readers grasp knowledge through the book by creating small games along the way, and putting these skills to the test with one ambitious game project at the end.

The text assumes no prior programming experience, includes hands-on projects to reinforce each new skill, and overall teaches C++ programming through the unique perspective of game creation

Author Mike Dawson has worked as a programmer and a computer game designer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and currently teaches game programming at UCLA Extension and The Digital Media Academy at Stanford. In addition to Python Programming for the Absolute Beginner, he is also the author of Beginning C++ Through Game Programming.
