  • VisionFest Animation Festival Now Accepting Competition Entries

    [02.18.10]
  • Student animation festival VisionFest is now accepting competition and screening entries for its annual event highlighting student-created interactive art and games.

Organizers note that VisionFest is one of the few animation festivals open exclusively to students. High school, undergraduate, and graduate students worldwide are invited to participate in the Animation category and the Games/Interactive Arts segment.

Each category is divided into three levels of competition, with cash prizes awarded to Best-in-Category Award winners chosen by a jury of animation and gaming industry experts. Audience members will also vote to determine an Audience Choice Award winner in each category.

Entries in the Games/Interactive Arts category may be created using either Flash, 3D, Java, C++, Python, or other accepted programs and applications. Students may also submit completed games via URL.

Contest entries must be postmarked by July 28th, 2010. This year's VisionFest event will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 22nd through 24th. A full list of rules and an entry form can be found at www.visionfest.org.
