  • Fired Infinity Ward Heads West, Zampella Sign With Creative Artists Agency

    [03.15.10]
  • Jason West and Vince Zampella, the recently-fired heads of Activision-owned Modern Warfare studio Infinity Ward, have signed up with Creative Artists Agency, according to a report in the L.A. Times' Company Town blog.

Zampella and West agreed to be represented by Hollywood's biggest talent agency as they begin their post-Infinity Ward lives after being recently fired by parent company Activision, which alleged insubordination and breach of contract. The two subsequently filed a $36 million lawsuit against the publisher for wrongful termination and breach of contract.

Infinity Ward's latest title, November 10's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 generated $1 billion on its own after just two months. The Call of Duty franchise overall has generated over $3 billion, with major console releases alternated between Infinity Ward and Activision sister studio Treyarch.

The L.A. Times noted that how it's not typical for individual game developers to be represented by talent agents. Sims creator Will Wright also signed an agreement with CAA in 2009 when he left Electronic Arts to focus his efforts on his Stupid Fun Club.
