  • BAFTA Young Game Designers Competition 2011 Finalists Announced

    [11.18.11]
  • The British Academy of Film and Television Arts today revealed the nominees for its 2011 BAFTA Young Game Designers competition.

The competition aims to discover up and coming young video game designers, aged between 11-16 years of age, who show promise in the industry.

It is hoped that the initiative, in association with Electronic Arts, will spur young people on to consider a career in video games.

Ten teams of three members each took part in the competition, with submissions from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, and three finalists have been chosen by a BAFTA committee.

Chamelion Arch was chosen as a finalist for its entry Gah-Den Quest, along with London-based Nose Dive Studios' Rollin' Scotch and Skisland from Surrey's Defying Gravity.

The three finalist teams will now attend the British Academy Children’s Awards on November 27, during which one team will be presented with the BAFTA Young Game Designers Award.
