Founded in 1929, Academy of Art University offers accredited AA, BA, BFA, MA, MFA and M.Arch degree programs in 21 areas of study, as well as continuing art education, pre-college art experience programs and teacher grants. Jewelry &Metal Arts and Visual Development are the school's newest majors.

Academy of Art University’s School of Game Design program meets the needs of today’s industry, combining courses in traditional skills such as design, drawing, composition and creative thinking with courses in: Video Game Design, Level Design, Prototyping, Effects Animation, 3D Modeling and Character Design.
