We are currently funded to produce MMO and Multiplayer Online Virtual Workplace Training Games to serve all aspects of the game industry in California. Our project launched in July 2008 and we're already conducting MMO based training activities on our Second Life Island and with our Online Multiplayer Virtual Workplace Training Games that we've built from the ground up using Virtools - which we demonstrated at a GDC 2008 launch event and also in our Expo Booth #6049. These Online Multiplayer Virtual Workplace Training Games feature the Virtools Multiplayer Architecture and are directly embedded into our SQL based learning management system. Our virtual production team spans the globe, using technologies like Perforce to manage the production pipeline.
Along the way, our SGDI game productions provide 'real' experience for our Serious Game and Simulation Design students at the School of Media Arts here at Santa Barbara City College. We also provide online faculty training on a Statewide level for Community College faculty that are interested in the game industry and program/curriculum development at their respective colleges.
